And then promptly sulked over it, as I'm not the biggest romance comedy fan on the planet (I'm not entirely sure I even like them), much less someone who's ever envisioned attempting to write one, or even write in a style. I'm still not sure this entirely qualifies, but it's what I've got.

Author's Notes: This idea popped into my head, and I couldn't really understand what it was going to be until I started writing. Then I realized it was similar to a movie I'd heard about but never seen, so I checked that out. And... well, this is a lot different than the movie. ~g~ I don't know why, but the "Rango Suite" from that movie's soundtrack featured into this story A LOT. I even used it as a basis for the music I describe in the opening scene. So if you want to listen while you read, you can find it here.
